So I took this pic of Little G and, being the hipstamaniac I am, I entered it into a Hipstamatic photo contest. If any of you would like to vote for G-Dawg (within the next 24 hrs - it's a short contest), you can either go to this link http://community.hipstamatic.com/submissions/14961 and click to share on Facebook and then click the like button for the posted link (and anyone who clicks the like button will give the pic one vote), or you can say http://hpstm.tc/msx and #hipstamatic in one tweet on Twitter. If you have both FB and Twitter, you can do both if you like. Any votes are much appreciated. Thanks!

Hipstamaniac
I know - it's been a crazy long time since I posted. I'm sorry. Facebook has been fulfilling my need for quick, punchy status updates, but I need to take the time to write a proper blog post.
A couple of months ago, I found a new passion. Well, it's actually a twist on an old passion. A friend on Facebook uploaded some pretty sweet looking pictures he took with an iPhone app called Hipstamatic. It's a camera app where one can change the "lens" "film" and "flash" for different looks. It's based off of a real camera made by a couple of guys 20+ years ago. The camera was made completely from plastic and the idea was to make cameras so affordable that even your average children could buy them. Tragically, the guys making the cameras died in a car accident (hit by a drunk driver, I believe) and the cameras kind of died with them. The pictures from both the real camera and the app have an interesting look to them. Kind of blurry, but in a good way. I am completely addicted. I have had the app for maybe two months or so, and I have taken hundreds of pictures. Hundreds. Maybe even close to one thousand. Some of them have turned out really, really cool. It's not that I'm a great photographer - I give most of the credit to the app. I will have to post pics, but if you are on Facebook, you can check out most of the pics there.

X-BOX's New Version of "Rock Band"
I think that the makers of Rock Band should develop a new version of the game geared towards us hispanics. Mariachi Band! I know I'd rush out and buy it. Instead of drums, you could have trumpets and fiddles and the singer would have to sing Mariachi songs and do gritas. It'd be awesome!
Another 15 minutes of fame
Well, more like about 5 seconds of fame, but I ended up in a Group Health and STP promotional video on the Group Health web site. To check it out, click here

Celebrity Sighting
At the airport in Denver, Nikki and I were in the same terminal with Shawn Johnson, Olympic gymnast and recent winner of DWTS (sorry - I still think Gilles was robbed). Mark was disappointed that we didn't congratulate her on her dancing victory, but I believe that just because someone is famous doesn't give me the right to invade their personal space and I'm not one for randomly talking to people I don't really know, unless they are JW's. If it were Hugh Jackman or Patrick Dempsey or a few other people, it may have been different....

G-Dawg the Sk8er Girl
In preparation of another summer at Alki, I am trying to teach Gobi how to ride my skateboard. So far, so good - it is a slow process, but we are definitely making progress. I will have to post pictures/video once we get her really going.
